Los Angeles, CA - On October 13, the Korean American Coalition’s (KAC) Model United Nations (MUN) students attended their first conference of the year at Cerritos High School. In competition with about 700 students, KAC MUN brought home a total of 6 awards of excellence. This award was given to a select few of students that displayed expertise in their specific global issue and performed excellent acts of diplomacy.
“Our MUN students have been vigorously working on their researching, public speaking, and debating skills in preparation for the Cerritos MUN Conference. Through improvisational public speaking exercises, deeply discussing international affairs, as well as writing and performing speeches, KAC was well represented due to the exceptional performance of our students,” said this year’s MUN Advisor Adam Chong. KAC Executive Director Joon Bang adds, “KAC has been at the forefront of developing young leaders since the 1980’s. It is a privilege for KAC to continue that history through our MUN students this year. We are thrilled to see the progress our students have made and we are excited to see what they will accomplish throughout the year.” KAC congratulates our MUN students on their impressive work over the last month in preparation for this conference, as well as on developing their teamwork, leadership, and academic abilities.
