Korean American Coalition-Los Angeles Honored at Second Annual California Nonprofits Day Celebration Los Angeles, CA – On Wednesday, June 28, the Korean American Coalition-Los Angeles (KAC) will be honored as a Nonprofit of the Year at a celebration of California Nonprofits Day. KAC has been selected by Assemblymember Miguel Santiago as an exceptional nonprofit organization. KAC will join nonprofit leaders from across the state who will be celebrated at the annual California Nonprofits Day event, formally recognized by Assembly Concurrent Resolution 54, which was authored by the chair of the new Assembly Select Committee on the Nonprofit Sector Assemblywoman Monique Limon (D-Santa Barbara). KAC promotes the civic and civil rights interests of the Korean American community, working to increase civic and legislative awareness through education, community organizing, leadership development, and coalition-building with diverse communities. KAC fosters rising generations of business professionals, community advocates, students and civic leaders. “This is an humbling honor, and I am especially thankful for Assemblymember Miguel Santiago and his team for partnering with us as we serve our community together. It is an exceptional privilege for the Korean American Coalition to be the first Korean American organization to receive “Nonprofit of the Year.” This honor symbolizes a milestone for a new chapter in KAC’s history,” said Joon Bang, Executive Director of KAC. The award recipients will be honored at a luncheon at Sacramento’s Convention Center, with welcomes from Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, Assemblymember Limon, and Jan Masaoka, CEO of the California Association of Nonprofits (CalNonprofits).
