U.S. Forest Service Community Meeting

10/25/2016

In October of 2014, President Obama designated the San Gabriel Mountains, which is part of the Angeles National Forest, as a National Monument (San Gabriel Mountains National Monument).  The U.S. Forest Service has drafted a plan for developing San Gabriel Mountains Monument/Forest for public access and recreation, and are asking the Korean American community for recommendations.

On Tuesday, October 25th, 2016, the Korean American Coalition, in partnership with the Asian Pacific Policy and Planning Council (AP3CON), will host a community meeting in Koreatown pertaining to the U.S. Forest Service's draft plan on the Gabriel Mountains National Monument/Forest.  The meeting will be conducted in both English and Korean, and it will be a great opportunity for the Korean American community members who enjoy the San Gabriel Mountains to make recommendations on the U.S. Forest Service Draft Plan.

#iamasianamerican Voter Registration Event

10/16/2016

#IAmAsianAmerican (#IAAA) aims to register voters with a national concert event taking place in four cities with major Asian American populations: New York, Washington DC, Chicago, and Los Angeles.  The free events will combine food, live music and speakers and on-the-ground engagement in each city — including a flagship red-carpet celebrity event at Los Angeles’s historic Wiltern Theater, which will also be live-streamed to the three other participating cities and locations across the country.  The concert is free, but tickets are limited.

After the concert, there is the Night Market After Party, where there will be additional food and entertainment. KAC will be registering voters at the After Party, which is open to the public.  Please come out and support KAC and #IAAA in our efforts to register voters for the upcoming elections!
