The Korean American Coalition-Los Angeles is a nonprofit organization established in 1983 to promote the civic and civil rights interests of the Korean American community.
The Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing KAC’s youth programs and will report to the Community Outreach Coordinator. We are looking for an extraordinary leader who is resourceful, detail oriented, and a go getter. Above all else, you must possess the mindset that your work contributes to creating positive change in the community. It's essential that applicants to this position have excellent communication skills, demonstrate creativity, and understand the importance of informing, educating, and inspiring our youth.

This is a part-time position with a weekly commitment of 15 to 20 hours and involves leading 2-hour classes twice a week from September to May, as well as joining the MUN team at each conference they attend during the year. Responsibilities
- Outreach to middle and high school students and their parents
- Develop a curriculum for the 2017-2018 MUN program year
- Provide instruction to develop students’ speaking, research, leadership, and collaborative skills
- Prepare for team attendance at MUN conferences throughout the year
- Lead two 2-hour classes for middle and high school students every week
- Organize class visits to multiple consulates throughout the year
- Develop and administer budgets for youth programs
- Regularly engage with students and parents
- Seek out opportunities for collaboration with other community organizations
Eligibility
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Minimum of one year of experience working with youth or teen programming
- Must be self-directed, driven, detail-oriented, and organized
- Must have extensive research, public speaking, and writing skills
- Must be willing to take 40 hours of mediation training (paid for by KAC)
- Ability to travel
