On August 19, the Korean American Coalition (KAC), the City of Los Angeles, Council President Herb Wesson, the Latino Coalition of Los Angeles, and the William Grant Still Arts Center co-hosted a community art exhibit at EK Gallery. The exhibit featured works from both established local artists and promising youth artists that centered on the theme of diversity and their vision of Los Angeles as it stands today. With over 200 attendees and leaders like Council President Herb Wesson and Councilmember David Ryu in attendance, the event was a celebration of our city's diversity, creativity, and unity.

On August 11, KAC joined community members at Los Angeles City Hall for Korean Independence Day. KAC thanks Los Angeles City Council for this recognition and celebration of Korean history.

The Korean American community lacks access in a number of ways, but the Korean American Coalition is working to ensure the Korean American community is represented among Census Bureau colleagues to ensure all communities are accounted for.
