The KAC Model United Nations program is now accepting applications for the 2009/10 school year. The application deadline is Friday, September 18th: all applications must be received by the KAC office by 6 pm.

KAC MUN is an after-school program designed to help underserved high school students in the greater Koreatown and Los Angeles municipal area. MUN is intended to give youth insight into the world at large – geopolitics, international relations, and national and international politics – while honing everyday skills, all in an effort to engage students in a critical reflection of not only global but local issues.

The bulk of the program will be spent learning about the United Nations, preparing for MUN Conferences, and critically discussing and writing about national and international issues. The program will also include visits by city and state officials, mentoring, and numerous volunteer opportunities.
