Call for Interns and Volunteers
The Korean American Coalition (KAC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1983 to promote the civic and civil rights interests of the Korean American community. KAC endeavors to achieve these goals through education, community organizing, leadership development, and coalition-building with diverse communities.
We invite undergraduate interns interested in community advocacy, organizing, and civil rights work to intern for us this fall and spring.
Interns will be assisting with the 4.29 Project, an effort to translate and digitize Korean-language newspaper articles from the 1992 L.A. Riots; the Koreatown Parks Initiative, an effort to increase green space in Los Angeles; and/or the 4.29 Dispute Resolution Center, KAC's alternative dispute resolution service.
Duties will include:
-Researching data, background material, and legislation
-Writing
-Issue and Policy analysis
-Organizing and attending community meetings
-Assist in organizing grassroots education and advocacy projects
-Processing case intakes at the 4.29 DRC
